George Hepplewhite,died in 1786,before the book . arrived in 1788, Note: Issac Taylor, Designed and Etched the book

,for his wife Alice Hepplewhite. (who he was helping out in her hour of need)his . just as?  and today are doing? .

 

George Hepplewhite.(1727c.- 1786) apprentice of: Robert Gillow, (1704–1772) born in Singleton, Lancashire, England.in business (1731c.-1817)  a successful business man, Note:which expanded into London (1760 -1817) his son? Also named Robert (Junior) was shop manager, his assistant:, George Hepplewhite.

.Isaac Taylor, (1740- 1804c.) Note: Son named: John Richard Taylor.

Thomas Chippendale, after his fire, 1755, which was orchestrated by Matthias Darly(Note: ThomasChippendale Sacked, M Darly for a spelling Mistake, Doomed bed? instead of, Domed bed) so after the fire 1755? Thomas Chippendale contacts his cousin in Otley Yorkshire (The local Builder: Note:William Chippendale) to inform of his troubles,a find a replacement for M Darly, William suggests: Isaac Taylor. in Ordusfield, Note (which today is Huddersfield). who is head draftman  to Robert Gillow, in Lancashire.  Isaac Taylor accepted Chippendale's proposal. and moves his family  to London,  (1756c.) to work on the third Director.

 while .Matthias Darly, joins forces with,William Ince and John Mayhew, 2 young cabinetmakers who trained under Thomas Chippendale & co.

Ince & Mayhew, who compile a rival book: to The Gentleman & Cabinetmakers Director, which they  Named:The Universal System of HouseholdFurniture. ( published between:1759-1762).

 

Note: 1756-1762, Issac Taylor is head designer to: Thomas Chippendale,  creating the last : Gentleman and Cabinetmakers Director 1762  so: Issac Taylor turns Freelance designer in London. Note: 1760 Robert Gillow opens his London shop. to use his head designer once more.(remember: Taylor was pouched by: Thomas Chippendale in 1756) the old partnership jelled,and we find Robert Gllow offering Issac taylor, a partnership,Gillow & Taylor, (1771-1777) friend of the Gillow family. is: Issac Taylor.

John Richard Taylor, son.4, Wardour Street, London. Whose business is so successful, father, Isaac Taylor. leaves Gillow & Taylor to join his son as top designer.

Note: now tradng as :Isaac & John Taylor, at the: Architectural Library. 56, High Holborn, London. Isaac Taylor is friendly with Lady Alice Hepplewhite. (Get The Picture). Note: Husband Dies in 1786? And a new book comes out in the name of George Hepplewhite, 1788-1794.The Cabinet-Makes and Upholsterer’s Guide To provide the income for  widow Hepplewhite? is only (£600), The Hepplewhite will Note: all the  Designs are by I & J Taylor. (For its 2 years after: George Hepplewhite Death)

Thomas Sheraton, I mention his book, The Cabinet-Maker and Upholsterer’s Drawing-Book because of one thing? ‘The Carlton House Desk’ Note: in 1771- 1777 Gillow & Taylor are in Partnership, Note: in 1778? (One year after Taylor left Gillow) Robert Gillow, Published there book in 1787? also: Thomas Sheraton. in (1793-1802) both books display a  certian Carlton House Desk, (designed by Isaac Taylor, while on partnership with Gillow & Taylor. (1771-1777) this all (becomes clear eventually in 1988) Argus Books Ltd, England. Re published an: 80 Year old design Book, Making Antique Furniture. Design 32, is: The Carlton House Desk. Isaac Taylors 3rd design. (the scam's were around even Then).
